Dane Dances 2025

A Celebration of Cultures Wrap-up Report

In 2025, Dane Dances had a total attendance of 9,442 people who enjoyed our events over the five Fridays in August. These are actual numbers, not estimated, to comply with the fire code for Monona Terrace. We showcased 10 Bands and a DJ for the Month, supporting 120 Artists. Our bands and music also represented the various cultures of our great community.

Dane Dances has demonstrated a commitment to providing quality activities with proven success in reducing racial and other barriers that separate people in the Dane County community. At the same time, we are able to showcase area artists. These performances help to attract people to the downtown Madison area and promote the central city business sector.

Dane Dances has been a showcase for many local minority artists. These artists may perform at private minority functions or ethnic festivals and have fewer opportunities to perform for a larger general audience. Dane Dances gives them an excellent venue to perform for a large diverse audience.

Dane Dances 2026 – A SEASON OF LOVE & COMPASSION

This year we are bringing in the original Vocalist/Artist of the Platinum selling all girl band. It will be the first time Dane Dances will showcase an all-female band. Dane Dances 2026 is shaping up to be the best season yet. We are working to broaden our appeal and increase our attendance. We are expecting to draw out of town guests to stay in downtown hotels. The band will be staying at a downtown hotel.

Dane Dances! is a family-friendly event on the stunning Monona Terrace rooftop EVERY FRIDAY EVENING IN AUGUST. The much-anticipated summer music series is a great way to get down and dance with your friends, coworkers, or family.

The rooftop gets shaking as the sun sets against the iconic Wisconsin State Capitol with the breeze of the Lake Monona at your back while you dance. Feel free to bring a blanket, chair and picnic basket; seating on the rooftop is limited. Sorry, carry in alcohol is prohibited. Dane Dances! promotes inclusivity with a fun night of music and dancing to music and bands for all ages.

Food and cocktails are available for purchase at 5:00 p.m.

I love running into new and old friends and connecting on the dance floor where everyone is smiling. It is my favorite event in Madison.
