Music & Dancing Help Break Down Barriers

Dane Dances! is one of Madison’s most popular summertime events! This summer dance concert series attracts an average 4,000 attendees each Friday evening in August on the Monona Terrace Rooftop.
The bands that perform are popular, high-energy, local and regional bands. The music is danceable and as diverse as the people who come to enjoy the events. Funk, Latin, R&B, Jazz, Hip Hop and Reggae are all in the mix.
Thousands of people come — young, old, single, in couples or with families. We welcome anyone who likes dancing, excellent music and ethnic food. You don’t even have to dance, just enjoy meeting new people and having fun together.
Get Involved!

Energetic and dedicated volunteers ensure that all activities run smoothly. We need volunteers year round for different jobs. Volunteers raise funds, select bands, plan dinners and other activities, arrange publicity and organize logistics.
Dane Dances! believes that keeping the events free to the public allows us to reach out to more people of diverse backgrounds. We can only do that with your help. Please join us and get involved with Dane Dances!
Dane Dances! is always looking for people who are eager to donate their time, money or services to plan and carry out activities throughout the year, or at one of the Friday concerts. Join us!
